This is Daniel Whyte III with the Second Coming Watch Update. This is update #954. Let’s take a quick look at today’s prophecy-related headlines which point towards the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ and the end of the world as we know it.
First, today, under the Sign category of WARS & RUMOURS OF WARS — According to American Military News, Israeli officials warned they will attack Iran if President Joe Biden eases U.S. sanctions on Iran and rejoins the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, also known as the Iran nuclear deal. Two weeks ago, Tzachi Hanegbi [ZAH-KEE HAH-NEJ-BEE], a cabinet member and top advisor to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said, “If the United States government rejoins the nuclear deal — and that seems to be the stated policy as of now — the practical result will be that Israel will again be alone against Iran. . . This of course we will not allow. We’ve already twice done what needed to be done, in 1981 against the Iraqi nuclear program and in 2007 against the Syrian nuclear program.” On Monday, an Israeli source said that Israel could go so far as to set a Biden administration decision to ease sanctions on Iran as a redline before Israel launches a strike.
Second, today, under the Sign category of THE GOSPEL BEING PREACHED IN ALL THE WORLD — According to The Express UK, amid Chinese president Xi Jinping’s [SHEE JEEN-PEENG] pursuit to maintain control in the country, Dr Ron Boyd-MacMillan, director of Strategic Research at Christian charity, Open Doors, claimed China’s premier is becoming increasingly concerned by the size of the Church – currently estimated at 97 million people. Dr Boyd-MacMillan believes the size of the Church in the country is set to rise rapidly in the coming decades and may reach 300 million people by 2030 – thus creating a group big enough to challenge Xi’s [SHEE’s] government. He said: “We think the evidence as to why the Chinese Church is so targeted, is that the leaders are scared of the size of the Church, and the growth of the Church. And if it grows, at the rate that it has done, since 1980 and that’s about between seven and 8 percent a year, then you’re looking at a group of people that will be 300 million strong, nearly by 2030. And … if the Church continues to grow like that, then they [the Communist Party] will have to share power.”
Third, today, under the Sign category of WARS & RUMOURS OF WARS — According to the Jerusalem Post, In clear deterrent action against Iran on Wednesday, a United States Air Force B-52H “Stra-to-for-tress” bomber flew over the Gulf, before the plane was spotted in Saudi airspace heading back to its base in the US. It was the fourth mission into CENTCOM’s area of operation in the last two months and the first deployment of the heavy bomber since Joe Biden’s inauguration last week. It came on the same day that IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Aviv Kochavi [AH-VEEV KOH-CHA-VEE] openly said that Israel was redrafting attack plans against Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. According to reports, the heavy bomber departed Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana on Tuesday on a nonstop flight across Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and down the coastline near the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, before turning around and returning to the US.
Fourth, today, under the Sign category of HOSTILITY TOWARDS ISRAEL — According to the Jerusalem Post, Anti-semitism is expected to rise sharply around the world as a result of conspiracy theories against Jews and the State of Israel regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the Diaspora Affairs Ministry’s annual anti-semitism report, the main forum for the expression of anti-semitism in 2020 changed from the physical realm to the online one. There was a sharp increase in the dissemination of anti-semitism online last year, including what appears to be an Iranian campaign to compare the Jewish state to a viral pandemic by launching the Twitter hashtag COVID-48, a reference to 1948, the year Israel was established. The 140-page document also noted an increase in anti-semitism in the US, caused by the novel coronavirus crisis in the country, political polarization surrounding the presidential election, the dissemination of various conspiracy theories and the racial-justice protests.
Fifth, today, under the Sign category of WARS & RUMOURS OF WARS — According to Reuters, China toughened its language towards Taiwan on Thursday, warning after recent stepped up military activities near the island that “independence means war” and that its armed forces were acting in response to provocation and foreign interference. Taiwan, claimed by China as its own territory, reported multiple Chinese fighter jets and bombers entering its southwestern air defence identification zone last weekend, prompting Washington to urge Beijing to stop pressuring Taiwan. China believes that Taiwan’s democratically-elected government is moving the island towards a declaration of formal independence, though Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen [SY ING-WEN] has repeatedly said it is already an independent country called the Republic of China, its formal name.
The prophetic passage of Scripture that we are looking at today is Ezekiel 37:26-28.
Ezekiel 37:26-28 reads: “Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore. My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And the heathen shall know that I the Lord do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.”
Allow me to share with you some commentary on this passage from Exploring Bible Prophecy from Genesis to Revelation, by Tim LaHaye and Ed Hindson.
The return of Israel to the land and to the Lord is now climaxed by the return of the Lord to Israel and the land. After this return the New Covenant will be enacted with Israel, just as the Old Covenant had been put into effect when the Lord came to Israel at Mount Sinai. The New Covenant is here called both a covenant of peace and an everlasting covenant. As in Ezekiel 34:25-30, where the list of millennial blessings under the New Covenant is based on the terms of the Mosaic Covenant, here the promise of “peace” for the land and the “perpetuity” of provision is drawn from Leviticus 26:4,6. The first synonym, “covenant of peace”, is appropriate for describing the restored conditions of the millennial age since the Hebrew word shalom (“peace”) denotes a comprehensive peace (“security, welfare, health, prosperity, harmony”). The second “everlasting” or “eternal covenant” describes the nature of God’s enduring promise and the inviolability of His commitment to Israel as demonstrated by the historic covenants of the past that have now been fulfilled.
If the Lord tarries His Coming and we live, we will continue looking at the prophetic passages of the Bible in our next broadcast / podcast.
Our Second Coming quote for today is from Herb Vander Lugt [LUKT]. He said, “The return of Christ represents not only the ultimate sense of accountability but the ultimate sense of hope as well.”
If you are not ready for the return of Jesus Christ, may I encourage you to get ready today by receiving Him as your Savior. Here is how.
First, accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God’s law. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
Second, accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death…”
Third, accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Also, the Bible states in Revelation 21:8: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
Now that is bad news, but here is the good news. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will. Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. Let us join in the prayer of John the Revelator — “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” God bless you.
