This is Daniel Whyte III with the Second Coming Watch Update. This is update #957. Let’s take a quick look at today’s prophecy-related headlines which point towards the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ and the end of the world as we know it.
First, today, under the Sign category of PESTILENCES & FATAL EPIDEMIC DISEASES — According to the Associated Press, Guinea [GI-NEE] has officially declared it has an Ebola epidemic after at least three people have died and four others have been infected in the West African nation. Neighboring Sierra Leone and Liberia have put their citizens on high alert as the three West African nations battled the world’s deadliest Ebola outbreak from 2014 to 2016, which began in Guinea [GI-NEE] and in which more than 11,300 people died.
Second, today, under the Sign category of WARS & RUMOURS OF WARS — According to the Daily Mail, China today has sent two coast guard vessels into Japan’s territorial waters amid rising tensions between the two countries over the disputed islands in the East China Sea. Japanese media reported the Chinese ships, including one equipped with what appeared to be a cannon, intruded into the waters near the Japan-administered Senkaku [SEN-KAH-KOO] Islands on Tuesday morning. The uninhabited islets in the East China Sea, controlled by Japan but claimed by China, have been at the centre of a long-standing dispute that has plagued the relations between Beijing and Tokyo for years. The incursion comes after China enacted a new ‘Coast Guard Law’, also known as the ‘open fire’ law, which allows the country’s sea forces to use weapons against any foreign vessel deemed a threat to its national sovereignty.
Third, today, under the Sign category of THE RISE OF GOG & MAGOG — According to the Times of Israel, The Iranian and Russian militaries have kicked off a joint naval drill in the Indian Ocean aimed at boosting security of maritime trade in the region. Iran’s state TV said units from Iran’s Navy and the powerful Revolutionary Guard’s navy will take part in the exercise dubbed “Iran-Russia Maritime Security Belt 2021” in the northern part of Indian Ocean, spanning a stretch of about 10,600 miles. According to Iranian Adm. Gholamreza Tahani [GOH-LAHM-REY-ZAH TAH-HAH-NEE], the drill spokesman, a Russian destroyer, logistics ship and a helicopter were to participate in the drill. This is the second such joint Russia-Iran exercise since 2019, when the two nations plus China held a four-day exercise.
Fourth, today, under the Sign category of TURMOIL IN THE MIDDLE EAST — According to the Jerusalem Post, With tensions rising with Iran, Israel is concerned that the Islamic Republic could deploy up to 200 long-range missiles in Iraq that could be used to attack the Jewish state. Iran is already believed to have hundreds of missiles that can reach Israel. While the chances of a direct confrontation between Israel and Iran are deemed low, heightened tensions in the North amid the possibility of a confrontation in Syria or Lebanon, could also draw Iran to retaliate. Israel does not currently believe that Hezbollah is interested in a new war, but military intelligence is of the opinion that there is a relatively high chance for a “few days of combat” between the IDF and the Iranian-backed guerilla organization.
Fifth, today, under the Sign category of WARS & RUMOURS OF WARS — According to Israel National News, citing the Iranian official IRNA news agency, the Associated Press reported Iran’s army test-fired a sophisticated short-range missile on Sunday. The chief of the army’s ground forces, Gen. Kioumars Heidari [KA-YOU-MARZ HEY-DAH-RI], was quoted as saying that the missile’s range was 186 miles. Gen. Heidari [HEY-DAH-RI] said the “smart” missile is capable to work in under “any weather condition.” He did not say where the test took place. Iran’s ballistic missile tests and satellite launches are a cause of concern for the West and particularly the US, which has argued that Iran’s ballistic missile tests are a violation of UN Security Council resolution 2231. The resolution, which enshrined the 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and world powers, says Iran is “called upon” to refrain for up to eight years from work on ballistic missiles designed to deliver nuclear weapons.
The prophetic passage of Scripture that we are looking at today is Ezekiel 37:26-28 which reads: “Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore. My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And the heathen shall know that I the Lord do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.”
Allow me to share with you some commentary on this passage from Exploring Bible Prophecy from Genesis to Revelation, by Tim LaHaye and Ed Hindson.
The capstone of the millennial kingdom and of its New Covenant is the promise of the erection of the restoration temple, to which God’s presence will return, never to depart. Ezekiel 37:26-28 provides the template upon which the grand design of the millennial temple is detailed in chapters 40-48. God takes the initiative in building the temple: “I will set My sanctuary in their midst”. This is one of the expected tasks of King Messiah. In the past the Shekinah glory appeared over Israel in the wilderness as a cloud by day (to provide shelter from the sun) and a pillar of fire by night (to provide illumination) and to communicate divine revelation. Isaiah 4:5-6 reveals that in the future, the Shekinah glory will exist as a canopy over the millennial Jerusalem, and Revelation 21:10 describes the descent of the New Jerusalem (apparently to remain suspended over the millennial Jerusalem), in which God’s glory is manifest, illuminating the earthly sanctuary into which the nations will bring their tribute.
If the Lord tarries His Coming and we live, we will continue looking at the prophetic passages of the Bible in our next broadcast / podcast.
Our Second Coming quote for today is from Jonathan Edwards. He said, “This world is a dark place without Christ, and therefore is dark till he comes, and until his kingdom of glory is set up.”
If you are not ready for the return of Jesus Christ, may I encourage you to get ready today by receiving Him as your Savior. Here is how.
First, accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God’s law. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
Second, accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death…”
Third, accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Also, the Bible states in Revelation 21:8: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
Now that is bad news, but here is the good news. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will. Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. Let us join in the prayer of John the Revelator — “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” God bless you.
